Adult beginner spin-fishing classes 2021

Want to enjoy one of Otago’s favorite outdoor activities and don’t know where to start?

Join us for an evening of fishing instruction and then on a field trip to try and catch a fish.
The Otago Fish & Game Council will run adult beginner spin-fishing classes in Dunedin and Cromwell.

This is a great opportunity to new learn how to fish at the beginning of the 2021/22 fishing season.

Evening theory classes will cover licences, regulations, fish species, rods, lures/bait, knots, where to go and more.

The first evening class, on Wednesday October 6 in Dunedin, will be for females only. Mixed classes will be held on Thursday and Friday, October 7 and 8.
Each adult will attend one evening class and a field trip. Classes are for ages 18 and above. All fishing equipment (rods and lures) will be provided. There is no charge for these classes. Limit of 12 people per class.
