Freshwater Fishing in Otago
The region has, without doubt, some of the most diverse waters for sports fishing in New Zealand.
They range from the unique high country experiences on gin clear Southern Lakes river tributaries to "put and take" reservoir fisheries in Dunedin City.
Each year thousands of residents and visitors enjoy many types of angling throughout Otago waters. You can help to maintain our fisheries by respecting the rules and regulations laid down by Fish & Game New Zealand’s Otago Region.
