It’s time to go trout fishing!

The countdown is on!

Just ten days to go until the start of the 2022/23 fishing season.

It’s time to buy your new fishing licence, dust off your fishing rod, top up your tackle box and start making plans because things are shaping up for yet another fantastic season.

Early season fishing is great; with this year's Opening Day falling on a Saturday, there's no reason to wait for later on in the season to get out there and into the fishing.

Throughout the summer, across the country Fish & Game put on all sorts of events to help anglers improve their chance of success.

With the arrival of the new season there are always new regulations that come into effect , if you haven’t received a regulations booklet when you purchased your licence you can download onehere.

Remember if a waterway is listed in the regulations booklet, it's a sign that it's a good spot to go fishing, so if you're travelling around or just want to try somewhere new, check out your regulations booklet for possible fishing spots.
