Fish & Game Election 2021
Elections are now complete and results are in
Fish and Game councils provide an essential role in our ‘user pays, user says’ democratic management of sports fish and game birds.
Fish & Game’s elections held every three years were held this year – to choose councillors to represent the interests of anglers and hunters in each of the organisation’s 12 regions.
The councillors’ tasks include setting regional fishing and hunting regulations, often in response to submissions from licence holders, developing policy, prioritising management direction through work plans for staff. Another key role is the promotion of freshwater sports fishing and game bird hunting in their local community.
