Both Barrels from Fish & Game NZ - March 2015

Both Barrels - April 2016.

Both BarrelsWelcome to our April edition of Both Barrels.

Not long now…only days before Opening Day, Saturday May 7.

There's good news for hunters – healthier duck populations in some regions, in both North and South Islands, have prompted more liberal rules and regulations, and some longer seasons.

If you're still wondering about access to public and private land after the hoo-ha over new workplace legislation, we re-cap where the issue is at. No big worries. You still need a farmer's permission to hunt his or her land, but recreational folk aren't caught by the new laws.

The Game Bird Food Festival is returning for the 11th year in a row. Check on restaurants taking part in your region

Remember to check out the toasty camo' jackets you can win courtesy of Hunting and Fishing New Zealand in our Banding Together project. Enjoy the read and from all the Fish & Game staff, here's wishing all game bird hunters a safe and happy start to the season!

P.P.S - If you think you've got an image worthy of featuring on our 'cover', email it to Don Rood for consideration.
