Need some handy tips with boat fishing?

Fish & Game staff are running a boat fishing talk and demonstration at Lake Tarawera on Sunday, January 6th , 2019.

Kids fish out days at the Ngongotaha hatchery have finished for another year. Keep an eye on our website for details of 2019's itinerary.

This fun opportunity is run by the Rotorua Anglers Association who show children six to 14 years of age how to catch a fish.


The final kids’ trout fishing day will be held on Saturday December 15 at the Scout Den pool in Stratford’s King Edward Park.

FGNZ CSI KidsFishingDay13A  kids fish out day is planned for Loch Cameron in early November, dates to be confirmed.


There will be a series of events in the region starting in November 2018 and running through into the new year to finish in autumn 2019.


A variety of take a kid fishing (TAKF) activities and competitions are being run by clubs and groups.
