If you are heading to the canals this weekend and hope to catch a salmon, I suggest you try the Tekapo Canal around the Stilling Basin and salmon farms.

Weekly Fishing Report – Central South Island - 12-03-2020

WFR1920.60. Phillip Williams caught this exceptionally conditioned brown trout at the Ohau A Canal recently Credit A Gillespie

The canals are fishing OK currently with the occasional whopper getting caught, but the mainstay of the catch is rainbow trout and salmon around 1kg.
