As much of the country starts to gear up for the new season, there is plenty of activity behind the scenes.
First up, we are launching Reel Life classifieds - a great way to reach NZ and international fishing people – if you want to sell your rod, rent out a bach or lodge, or promote anything to do with fishing at all, then Reel Life classifieds will work for you. Read all about it here.
This month the new 2007 / 2008 fishing regulations have been announced – you can see your regional regulations online here; make sure you are familiar with regulations at all times.

This month we want to draw your attention to three other publications: The NIWA website http://edenz.niwa.co.nz/ is great for river flow data for Fish and Game and anglers throughout the country.
A new website www.nzfishing.com provides all the information an angler needs to plan a fishing trip into any part of New Zealand, making it a one-stop-shop for anglers who want to make their fishing trip is as successful as possible.
Finally, SpotX have launched a freshwater fishing publication – full of great places to fish and available from all good bookshops and fishing shops.
Regular Reel Life columnist Hugh Creasy has noticed a touch of spring in the air and is feeling the call of the river – read his latest At the end are the rainbows article.

I have not had much fishing this winter, so I have nothing more to report other than a bad case of fishermans twitch – the need to check out baths, puddles and bottles of water for possible lies!
